Date Night Giveaway

When D and I first started dating, you know “way back when”, we loved going out for Italian food.  We would sit and talk about this and that while we enjoyed a meal.  We didn’t really care about waiting for the food as we just wanted to spend time together.

Now, my favorite date night with D is a relaxing evening at home.  Usually, Munchkin will eat dinner with us, and then we’ll set her up with her own movie and some popcorn.  We’ll enjoy spending time together and watch a movie by ourselves.  It’s very simple, but it’s any enjoyable time for us.  For us, being at home is generally more relaxing than trying to go out on a date.

    You know, we have one of these in Harrisburg, but I don’t think I’ve ever eaten there – I’m going to have to give it a try. I LOVE Italian food!

    We used to not have the option to go out more than once a year. So we always stayed in. We’d put the kids to bed early, and stay up late with a meal and a movie.

    Now we have problems with that. Steve gets up at 5 am now, for his new job, and can’t stay up as late at night. Plus we have teens who don’t go to bed early. Our date nights at home have become very infrequent.

    On the plus side, we now have kids old enough to babysit their siblings so we can go out more often.

    It’s kind of a toss up. I like our dates at home, but sometimes they don’t seem much like a date. I do like it when my husband makes all the plans for a “night on the town” so to speak. Usually we go to dinner, walk around somewhere (like Walmart or Target) and every once in a while see a movie.

    Oh, I don’t know. I love either going out or staying in. I think going out makes it more of a date these days though… Staying in always turns into family night.

    I’d rather stay in.. it gives us more time to spend together and talk, than to get distracted by other things. Saving money staying in is a great perk too! 🙂 My fiance and I are saving for our wedding and on a tight budget so winning this for a nice dinner date night in would be great.
