Walmart has teamed up with Proctor & Gamble to produce their 2nd family friendly movie, The Jensen Project. The latest movie from Walmart and P&G heads into the world of sci-fi.
Movie Description:
The world is hanging by a string. Can this family pull it together?
After a 16-year absence, Claire and Matt Thompson are reintroduced to The Jensen Project — a secret community of geniuses conducting advanced underground research to solve the world’s most difficult problems. The former scientists, accompanied by their tech-minded teenage son Brody, are thrust into a frantic pursuit to keep a potentially dangerous technology from falling into the wrong hands. As the family races against the clock to stop the group’s rogue faction, they discover an important truth. In this high-pressure, high-tech world, sometimes the smartest thing we can do is lean on each other.
My Thoughts:
Claire Thompson is running from her past. She has kept her emotions hidden deep within for so long that it is negatively impacting her family. Her relationship with her husband, Matt, while good has grown strained from the constant tip-toeing around issues from the past. Their teenage son, Brody, is hiding things from his parents and going behind their backs. His high level of intelligence leaves him bored at school, so he skips school to work on his own projects. Matt and Claire are so caught up in their own lives that the fail to try to find out why Brody is skipping school and breaking rules.
All of a sudden, their lives change as Claire is forced to face her past at The Jensen Project – a high tech underground scientific facility. Secrets, long ago hidden, come bubbling to the surface while they try to keep top secret technology from falling into the wrong hands. With Brody’s life on the line, Claire moves out of her comfort zone and conquers her past fears. As a family, the come up with a solution to the problem.
This movie really highlighted the importance of communication within a family. Both the parents and the son had made mistakes, but once the communication lines were opened up, they were able to work through their problems and become a stronger family.
Overall, Munchkin, D, and I enjoyed this sci-fi movie. It made for an entertaining, family friendly movie for our family movie night.
The exclusive 2-disc bonus pack is available at Walmart for $13.00. It includes a dvd copy of the moive and a cd soundtrack. The soundtrack by Randy Jackson (American Idol) features artists such as Jordin Sparks and Brook White.
