Hiking Cougar Crest Trail – Big Bear, CA

Posted in Family, and Outdoor Adventures

On Saturday, we decided that it was time to test out our new Gregory backpacks. Seeing how we want to eventually do multiple day hikes, we know that it’s important to work out way up to being able to do that. Hiking with just a day pack (our normal thing) is completely different from backpacking with a bigger pack, so it’s important to condition your body before taking on a longer trip. Our normal drive, while still pretty, takes us on paved roads and highways. This alternate route took us through Joshua Tree National Park and down some “4-wheel-drive-only” dirt roads. We drove a few popular climbing…

Dolphin and Whale Watching at Dana Point

When we heard that Grandma and Grandpa were going to be in CA, we started to schedule a time for us to get together. They thought it would be really cool if we could go on a Dolphin and Whale Watching boat tour, so on Sunday morning, we headed over to meet them. We had a blast even though it was a bit choppy that day. We saw dolphins, sea lions, and a gray whale.
