On Friday morning, we set out on our adventure. The temps were already climbing, but we knew that the location where we were heading was going to be cooler. When Munchkin was quite young and we were living in North Carolina, we rented a small travel trailer to take a nice camping trip. We’d always done tent camping up to this point, so it was a new adventure for us. The summer temps (and humidity) in the South weren’t something that we used to, and we quickly learned that tent camping was okay only during certain months. Travel back in time with me to 1864… the area is bustling with military life as the U.S. Army prepares to travel all over the west. The Quartermaster Depot (QMD), a significant place in the history of the Arizona territory, was used to store and distribute supplies for all the military posts in Arizona, some in Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas.
