On our hike, we saw this little rattlesnake on the side of the trail. Wyatt was fascinated by all the lizards on the trail. They kept him on high alert.

I had a blast photography the lunar eclipse, but I also learned that while I’ve gotten the hang of photographing the moon, I need more practice on figuring out settings for the “blood moon” where it is lower light. I took pictures for the entire eclipse every 10 to 15 minutes (for the most part). We were blessed to have a crisp, clear night. Here are just a few pictures from that night.

The Scenic Route: Joshua Tree National Park

We were heading down the hill to get some groceries and see a movie, but we decided that we would take an off the beaten path route instead of the traditional highway route. We put on our hiking boots and brought our camelbaks “just in case”. Daddy did a quick check on his truck to make sure everything looked good, and we hit the road. Our normal drive, while still pretty, takes us on paved roads and highways. This alternate route took us through Joshua Tree National Park and down some “4-wheel-drive-only” dirt roads. At the Beach with Grandma and Grandpa

After our Dolphin and Whale Watching boat tour, we headed to get some lunch and then decided to do a little hiking. We finished up our hike with a nice walk on the sandy ocean beach.
