Awana Cowgirl Night

Last Wednesday was Cowgirl/Cowboy Night at Awana. The kids had a blast. Everyone that dressed up got an extra chance to throw a whipped cream pie at the Awana Commander. That was quite the incentive for the kids. I am grateful for Munchkin’s great Awana leaders. (Click on image about to go to the 30 days of Thanksgiving challenge.)

Munchkin is really excited because she is moving on to her 3rd T&T Awana book! She completed her final sections on Wednesday night. We’re really proud of her hard work. More importantly, we are thrilled with all of the scripture that she has learned so far in Awana. One of the projects that Munchkin needed to finish in order to complete her 2nd Awana book was to make 3 dioramas. I was able to locate some coloring pages online. Getting Ready for Awana

Last Wednesday, our church held registration and orientation for the new year of Awana. We registered Munchkin and then the leaders talked to the parents. The leaders are really pumped about this year. They are expecting great things for the kids. I was impressed with their concern with the safety of the kids, and their desire to see the kids grow in Christ. After the leaders were done talking to the parents, the parents were dismissed, and the kids had a meet and greet time. Munchkin has been happily working on her book this week. Awana Grand Prix

Munchkin was pleased with how her car turned out. There were a lot of very cool cars that showed up on race day. Munchkin’s completed car. A few cars lined up to be judged. Munchkin’s car lined up on the track ready to race. She came in second or third in her races. She was pleased until she realized that she wouldn’t be moving on to the next round. At the end of the day, they awarded prizes to the racers for both achievements in racing and appearance. They all received an award for participation as well as Awana bucks.
