On Saturday, we decided that it was time to test out our new Gregory backpacks. Seeing how we want to eventually do multiple day hikes, we know that it’s important to work out way up to being able to do that. Hiking with just a day pack (our normal thing) is completely different from backpacking with a bigger pack, so it’s important to condition your body before taking on a longer trip. I’m really bad about getting family pictures taken of us as I’m usually behind the camera, but there are certain times of year that I almost always take them. Resurrection Sunday is one of them. The tripod worked out pretty well for us.
I had a blast photography the lunar eclipse, but I also learned that while I’ve gotten the hang of photographing the moon, I need more practice on figuring out settings for the “blood moon” where it is lower light. I took pictures for the entire eclipse every 10 to 15 minutes (for the most part). We were blessed to have a crisp, clear night. Here are just a few pictures from that night.
