Surgery

Posted in Thoughts

We’re getting ready to head out in a few minutes. I have to check in at 9:15 this morning. Munchkin will spend the day at a friend’s house. D will be getting caught up on a lot of reading while my surgery is taking place. I’ll update when I can. Until then, have a enjoyable Thanksgiving week!!

Start of the Holiday Season

Posted in Family, and Holidays

As you know, we had our Thanksgiving early due to my surgery tomorrow (Monday). We also put up the Christmas tree. We’ll be putting up the Christmas decorations today. Last night, we started our Christmas season off by heading over to the botanical gardens for their Christmas light show. We enjoyed listening to Christmas music while we drove through the lights.

Chilly Trophy Day

The final soccer game of the 2008 season was very chilly, in the 30s. We were all bundled up and many of us couldn’t sit still as it was just too cold. The kids played well, and Munchkin’s team ended their season with a win. After the game, they had the trophy ceremony for the kids. Munchkin’s coach was a teenage girl. This was her first year coaching (she also played at her own age level), and she did an amazing job with the kids. The kids all enjoyed her being their coach. Now, Munchkin is moving on to basketball…

Our Thanksgiving Celebration

Posted in Family, and Holidays

Today, we enjoyed a very yummy Thanksgiving dinner. We had plenty left over, so Munchkin and Daddy will be able to have a full dinner next week as well. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing/dressing, green beans, cranberry jelly, and sweet potato muffins. A little later, we enjoyed fresh baked pumpkin pies with homemade whipped cream. Yum! As per our holiday tradition, we also had sparkling juice with our meal. Munchkin took this picture of D and I as she thought I needed to be in a picture too!
