Starting Riding Training

Daddy decided that it was finally time to start riding the horses again. When we brought them home from the rescue, we made the decision to do training before riding them as they were disrespectful. Munchkin had some bad experiences with a few horses at the ranch, so she was hesitant to get back on her horse, Dixie, until she knew that she was respecting her. International Bow Hunter Education Class

Munchkin’s weapon of choice is her bow. She very much enjoys archery and wants to be able to do some hunting with her bow in the future. This past week, Munchkin worked on getting the online portion of her bow hunting class completed so she would have her certificate in time for Sunday’s field day class. We chose to go with the online class instead of the Saturday in-person class due to the class site being 1 1/2 hours away. Hiking Cougar Crest Trail – Big Bear, CA

On Saturday, we decided that it was time to test out our new Gregory backpacks. Seeing how we want to eventually do multiple day hikes, we know that it’s important to work out way up to being able to do that. Hiking with just a day pack (our normal thing) is completely different from backpacking with a bigger pack, so it’s important to condition your body before taking on a longer trip.
