I'm proudly married to my best friend, an active duty US Marine. I'm happily taking care of our homestead and our ever growing entourage of animals. I enjoy writing, reading, cooking, crafting, diy projects, and various outdoor activities. It's all about enjoying the journey of life with my family.
Except for the sunset, these are all pictures from when we were at the house prior to purchase. On Monday, we waited on pins and needles to see if the mortgage company would release the funding so we could close escrow. We didn’t want to pack up the trailer with things for the cabin if we wouldn’t be heading up there until later in the week. (At this point, we knew that we were definitely closing escrow, so it was just a matter of when it would happen.) As soon as we received word that the funding had gone through…
Back in July, we went to look at a cabin in the woods that was for sale. You see, our dream was to one day own a log cabin on some property where we could homestead once D retired from the military. We had looked at a variety of properties over the years, but none of those properties felt right for us. As we drove to the location of the cabin, we grew excited as we loved the location. Upon arrival at the cabin and looking around, we knew that this was the place. We took some time to pray…
I have joined up with some other ladies from the CWA Review team to form a ShapelyGirl exercise group for the month of October. Each Friday during October, I’m going to post updates on how I’ve done for the week as a way to be held accountable. My final post will be on November 2, 2012 where I will wrap everything up and talk about my experience with the ShapelyGirl program. This week, I’ve officially been participating in the program for 4 weeks. It’s hard to believe that a month has gone by already. I know that for many of…

My Thoughts:
The League of Incredible is where VeggieTales meets super heroes. If you’re a super hero fan (or even if you’re not), you’re sure to enjoy and laugh at this latest VeggieTales/LarryBoy dvd. Many kids (and adults) struggle with fear, and this story tackles the topic of fear head-on. Junior Asparagus is offered the opportunity to join The League when he helps some of The League members when they were in need. Junior believes that wearing a super suit will help take away all of his fears. He soon learns that even as Richocet he is plagued with many fears. It’s not until he learns the only way to conquer his fears is to trust the Lord that he is finally able to become a true super hero.
We enjoyed this fun VeggieTales play on super heroes. The witty, funny banter in the story had us laughing to the very end. Fear is such a big part of many kids lives that I really appreciate the fact that VeggieTales decided to tackle the topic in a fun way. It was good to have kids see that even super heroes have fears. Even the smallest/youngest among us can do great things with the Lord’s help.
