Where have I been?
We have been very, very busy doing projects around the house. D has redone the floors in both bathrooms. I’ve repainted the bathrooms. D redid the door frame to Munchkin’s room (it was a mess) and rehung the door in the other direction. I stained the new door frame. D built desks for Munchkin and I and a new shoe cabinet for the entryway. I’m working on getting those things painted. D built two drawers for my kitchen cabinet. I organized the kitchen cabinets, and reorganized a few things in the kitchen. D has been working on his truck. I’ve been working on the landscaping. I’ve also been working on getting some things packed up in preparation for putting the house on the market.
Whew!! I’m sure that I’m forgetting some things, but that’s the gist of what’s been going on here. We’re continuing to get schooling done as well as normal activities. We’ve been having some internet and phone issues, so I’ve been trying to get those things taken care of as well.
Munchkin designed her car for the Awana Grand Prix that is coming up at the end of the month. She painted it red and added red sparkly paint. It looks very cool! Now that she’s had it weighed and tested it on the track, we’ll be able to add the final touches including the numbers. I will post pictures once it is done.
Friday, Munchkin had a late night game. Unfortunately, she sprained her finger during warm-ups. Thankfully, she was able to have fun and play even with the injury. We didn’t realize how bad it was until she woke up the next morning with a very swollen, purple finger. We put her finger in a splint and now she’s doing much better. It’s hard to believe that we’re coming up on Munchkin’s final basketball game of the season. Both D and Munchkin are sad to see the season end as the team has really started to come together as a unit. It’s been a good experience for both of them.
For Valentine’s Day, we had lots of heart-shaped, yummy food at home. We spent a little over half of the day working, and the other portion we spent just having fun as a family. I’ll post some pictures of our Valentine’s Day meals later. I surprised Munchkin with hearts on the floor making a path to her bathroom. On the bathroom mirror, I wrote Happy Valentine’s Day with lots and lots of hearts. Her sink was overflowing with heart balloons. D and I put cards in there and well as two chocolate bars. We placed a framed picture of Munchkin and D by the sink. (I forgot to print out the one of Munchkin and I; I had a frame for that as well.) She was tickled pink with her surprise.
Today, we’re doing Munchkin’s school testing for the year. I have it scheduled for the next few days. She may decide to do it all in one day. She seriously dislikes standardized testing, so I never know with her. I wanted to get this done prior to all of the craziness of the move beginning.
We still have no word on our new orders. We’re continuing to plug along at getting the house ready to put on the market. Once we have orders, we’ll be able to get this show on the road.
