Munchkin is playing Upward Basketball through our church. Daddy is the assistant coach. Today, they had their first basketball game, and Munchkin was pretty nervous. There are very few girls playing, so that makes her a little uncomfortable. Since she has never played basketball before, she didn’t know what to expect for this first game.
They had a smoke machine and a banner for the kids to run through as they were going through the line-up.
Pregame huddle as they went through some last minute rule changes that the coach did not know about.
Playing defense. When the players first lined up against the other team, the boy that played against Munchkin snickered and make a comment about guarding a girl. Munchkin used that as motivation to play some pretty good defense.
Playing offense. Munchkin was a bit intimidated by all of the boys when it came to offense. As the game progressed, she slowly got more comfortable with that aspect of the game. She says she prefers the defensive end.
