This and That

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Can I just say that I’m tired of recovery? I no longer need to take pain meds (um, unless I overdo things…), so that’s a good sign. The bad thing is that I’m still on restriction including a weight restriction. When you’re use to doing pretty much everything yourself, this can get old really fast. Especially when you want to get the house all ready for Christmas and see things that need to get done. I am being good though and just doing little things here and there that I’m allowed to do. Sometimes I do a little too much at a time and I feel it. Then, I need to rest for a while or sometimes for the rest of the day. **sigh** All the meals that I put up in the freezer have really come in handy. We still haven’t polished them all off.

D has been really busy with different projects. He’s currently working on in stalling a closet in Munchkin’s room as there is no closet in her room. Last night, he finished the closet system that he built from scratch. I told him what I wanted and he made it happen. (He’s awesome!!) He’ll build the actual closet as time allows. He’s had to do some work on his truck as well, so he’s trying to balance the two out. Unfortunately, something broke on his truck over the weekend, so it’s now unable to be driven. Thankfully, since I’m not driving at this point in time, he’s been able to just take my vehicle to work each day. His truck is now going to have to take priority over finishing the closet.

Munchkin is continuing with a light school schedule this month. She’s also having fun doing several Christmas crafts. She has be a great helper to both D and I as I recover. She’s very much ready for me to be completely on my feet again (as we all are). I think she’ll deserve a special thank you when all is said and done. She surprised both of us by completely doing the laundry one day. She has never done it herself, but she knew how to do it by watching me. She knew that D was really busy, and the laundry needed to be done. So, she just jumped in and started doing loads of laundry!!

Tomorrow, Munchkin has her Awana Christmas party at church. Her basketball practices have been put on hold until after the new year. D will take his motorcycle safety course on base Thursday and Friday. Then, he’ll be able to ride his motorcycle to work (weather depending). That will help if his truck situation can’t be resolved right away. Me? Well, I’ll be continuing on with my recovery and puttering around the house.

Thanks for the card – we are both SO thrilled to have a pic too!! All our kids go up at work so I see them each day and pray for them! ;o) I had to read about how much she has been helping to Joe – we were both so moved by her sweetness. What a special little munchkin indeed! Glad you are recovery well – keep taking it easy! Still prayin’!

I'm very proud of Munchkin for showing such great initiative!

Please keep doing what you are suppose to do so you can recover sooner rather than it taking longer.

    Love & prayers,

    Merry Christmas! 🙂 🙂 🙂
