Munchkin decided that she wanted to surprise Daddy with a cake. She picked out the Scooby Doo cake pan because we love Scooby Doo and the cheeseburger was perfect for Daddy. We decided to try out a new cake recipe and add our own twist by making it a marble cake. Munchkin make the cake (minus the oven step). Once we took it out of the oven, we shaved off the top of the cake and tasted the cake. Yum! I think we’ve found our new cake recipe!!
I did a crumb coat for Munchkin per her request. She watched and practiced the frosting techniques that she learned from Kathy’s Cake Decorating dvd. She felt that she was ready to tackle a cake for Daddy.
I mixed the frosting colors and loaded the bags for her as she didn’t feel comfortable doing that.
Other than a little help here and there, she pretty much did this on her own.
I wrote the cursive Welcome Home and she added the Daddy. She’s very happy with her finished product.
So, just practice or will Daddy get to eat this one?? 🙂
