Lazy Days

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Thoughts

I’ve been dealing with a lot of headaches recently, and for me, the best medicine is a dark, quiet room. So, Munchkin has been having a lot of free time after her schoolwork is done. She’s been building forts, playing with toy dinosaurs, playing with Lego’s, playing with her dolls, and reading. Oh, I can’t forget all of the flips and somersaults that she’s been working on as well. It’s been raining, so there hasn’t been a lot of outside time this week. She’s looking forward to a nice day, so she can practice for baseball.

I am blessed with a child that has a good imagination. She’ll come into my room periodically to show me her latest, greatest creation or ask me to come see what she’s built or created. It’s fun to see her mind work. Today, her “lazy day” lead to a beautiful, special poem that she wrote for me/about me. It’s one of those things that I’ll treasure forever as a mom. It’s currently taped up on my mirror, so I can look at it whenever. Eventually, it will be either placed in a keepsake box or framed.

It’s days like these that make me all the more grateful that we homeschool. I love having Munchkin around even on those days that I’m not feeling up to par. She makes me laugh and smile. Just a simple giggle can bring such joy to my heart.

So sorry you’ve not been feeling up to par. I know just how horrible headaches can be. You are VERy blessed to have a little one who not only do not demand your attentions all the time, but also-who is so lively and imaginative. I often hope my children are that way too, and wonder how I can ‘MAKE’ them become so… 😉 Any hints?!?

Hoping your headaches clear up soon. Unfortunately, it seems to be a side benefit of spring around our house.

So sorry that you’ve been having headaches lately…I, too have been having lots of headaches lately, but I think mine is stress, with my Mother-in-law’s illness and my son’s operation. I’ll pray for you…if you like. I never pray for anyone without asking them these days…somebody really attacked me (verbally) for praying for her last year!
