Thankful Thursday

Posted in Family

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” James 1:2, 3

If you’ve ever been stuck in the house for several days with a sick child, you know that your patience will be tried. While you love your child, you grow weary as the days (and nights) go by very slowly. This has been my house this past week.

Well, Wednesday evening brought a lovely (and well needed) surprise. I honestly did not think that Munchkin would even attempt to go to church as she just wasn’t feeling well. As the afternoon passed, she started to want to do sitting type activities (playing with clay).

5:00 rolled around and she decided that she wanted to go to her Wednesday night program at church. She got up and got dressed. She got her verse, so she could finish memorizing it. Then, she did her household activity for the week (cleaning the microwave). Wow! So, off to church we went. She had a good evening though she was exhausted by the end of the evening. What a blessing.

Now, I don’t know if her illness has completely passed, but I am extremely grateful for the light at the end of the tunnel. I am so thankful that she was able to go to church as this really blesses her.

The Lord has been watching out for our family, and many things have fallen into place for the Christmas holidays. Yes, we miss D very much, but we can feel the Lord’s presence in our lives every day.
