Thankful Thursday: Support

Posted in Family

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

I have spent more time alone this week than I have in a while. Munchkin has been at VBS in the morning (and loving it), so I’ve spent the mornings by myself (minus my doctor’s appt.). I’ve been able to read more and spend more time with the Lord. I do believe that because of this the devil decided that he was going to attack me. I felt the pull of sadness and loneliness try to kick in. When I felt this pull, I opened up a book that I had just received in the mail a week before, and the first chapter started with this verse. It was so fitting.

Isn’t God wonderful? He gives us what we need to be able to overcome the devil. He doesn’t promise that we’ll never be tempted, but he does promise that we’ll have a way out. He is there to help us even when we forget about Him and fall into ourselves. He is there to lift us up. I am so thankful for His constant presence.

At the same time, I am very grateful for the loving support, kind comments and emails that I’ve received this week. I very much appreciate you taking time out of your day to leave comments or send emails my way. You have also lifted me up. Thank you!

I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with a husband who loves his family dearly and who loves his country dearly. I know that sometimes this love of country means that he can’t be with us. It’s not easy for any of us, but I’m so proud of him. I am thankful for the other men and women who are also proudly serving their country and for the families that they leave behind. Thank you!

May God bless each of you this week as you seek to be grateful for all the Lord has given you.

God is so wonderful…..I know what you mean…as soon as you start making some steps forward that is when Satan like to attack us to get discouraged……the victory is in recognizing the battle is not against man it’s against the enemy…..
    Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Heather, What a beautiful post this evening (or morning for you!) I agree with you about Satan’s attack and have felt it myself a bit this week. I am so happy the Lord spoke to your heart through your book ~ and gave you His words to stand on. We are praying for your family as your husband (and you and Munchkin) serve our country. Blessings to you!

We’re a military family too. We’re living in Germany and DH is deployed to the Middle East. I too am inexpressibly grateful to those who serve our country. Thank you to your husband, and to you, for all you do to keep us free.

God is so good. I am very thankful for the men and women who serve our country. My husband was a Marine and served in the Vietnam war. He has a website your husband might enjoy:

I also want to thank you and other military wives for being strong and keeping the home fires burning. I know you sacrifice much. May God bless you greatly!

You are right, when we are alone sometimes the devil sneaks up on us to make us feel even worse than we already feel. But you defeated him with the only weapon you can – His Word…

I will be praying for you as your beloved now is in a different state.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.

    Be blessed today and always…
