Semper Fi Apron and Chef Hat

Posted in Homemaking

My sister contacted me a couple of weeks ago to see if I could make up a few aprons and chef hats for her upcoming wild game dinner at church.  (Keep in mind that this isn’t something that I’ve done. lol!)  So, I agreed to give it a try.  We originally talked about using a pink camo, but I was unable to find any pink camo material locally.  So, this is what I came up with…

Semper Fi Apron and Chef Hat

You can’t tell it from the picture, but the ruffle, pockets, and ties are in light pink.  I used the same pink material to make the binding for the apron.  I tried several times to get it to show up in the picture, but it just shows up like white.  grrr!  The camo is Marine Corps digital camo.  I didn’t have a pattern for the apron, so I came up with this.  I found the free chef hat pattern at YouCanMakeThis.com.

I’ve completed 2 aprons and 1 chef’s hat.  Only 2 more aprons and 3 more chef’s hats to go. lol!!

For many of these things, I do better without a real pattern. Even with the pattern for the chef hat, I did things my own way. lol!

    Wow, what an excellent effort!

If you have trouble with getting the lighter colours to show up, try turning the flash off on the camera.

    Have a wonderful week,
    Blessings,
    Jillian

    Thanks, Jillian.

We didn't use flash for these pictures, but we still couldn't get the light pink to show up.

  8. I love the chef hat! I am planning to make one for my son who is a cook. I found you through the Make it from Scratch carnival. BTW, noticed you are in also in Arizona and I am doing the GAPS diet which is grain-free so I’ve been gluten-free since early December. I’ll be checking out your recipes. Thanks for sharing the hat and apron!
