Thankful for My Teenage Daughter

First of all, it’s still weird thinking that I’m a mom to a teenager. I’m sure I’ll eventually get use to it. lol! Kids just grow up so fast.

This morning, I work up with my allergies going out of control. My nose was running so much that I ended up looking like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. I was congested, coughing, and sneezing. Needless to say, I was absolutely feeling miserable. I eventually broke down and took some Benadryl which I normally try to avoid as it knocks me out and makes me pretty much useless. That’s something that I generally try to avoid when Daddy isn’t home.

Thankfully, after I took the medication, I was able to fall back asleep for some time before Munchkin got up for the day. The dogs actually allowed me to sleep which is NOT normal at all. Once Munchkin got up, she had me go back to sleep instead of getting up. She did her schoolwork and got lunch all by herself. She even did her chores.

I am so thankful for my sweet teenage daughter who allowed me to sleep as I needed as she took care of things on her own. While I wouldn’t ask her to do this on a regular basis, I appreciated the fact that she is able to do these things by herself.
