Game Day with Wholly Guacamole Giveaway

Posted in Family, Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Reviews

Football

It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to an end and college football season is getting ready to begin. On game days, when I know we’re going to be home to watch the game, I like to put together easy meals and snacks that can be grabbed whenever we’re hungry. By doing this, I don’t have to miss the game. Yes, I’m a big college football fan and even got D started with watching college football.

Growing up with a Dad who loved the University of Michigan meant that I had wolverine blood running through my veins. In high school, I had the opportunity to go to the Big House and watch the MI football games with my Dad. After high school, when we weren’t sitting in the stands, we still watched the games together whenever possible. Quite often game days were spent at my Dad’s house watching football and eating yummy food. Even after Munchkin was born, we spent as many game days as possible with my Dad.

Moving away from MI didn’t mean that we stopped watching the games, but it did mean that it wasn’t always easy to watch the games due to local programming. Yet, whenever possible, D and I would watch the games together. Munchkin has her own fond (and a few not-so-fond) memories of football games with Grandpa. One win concluded with Munchkin being spontaneously tossed up into the air by Grandpa which she didn’t like. lol!

Guacamole Football Field

It seems that you can’t have a fun game day without some yummy food. It just wouldn’t be the same. Around here, a couple of our favorite things to have on game day are layered dip and nachos. The layered dip includes layers of refried beans, salsa, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Of course, this also means making up some slow cooker chili to use on the nachos and dip.

The layered dip is super easy and can customized to individual taste preferences by using one of the many varieties of Wholly Guacamole. Munchkin likes plain – classic or organic – guacamole on her dip, so I usually make at least half of the dip with that. D loves a bit of kick with his dip, so I use a spicier guacamole for the other half of the dip. For this dip, I used some of the Wholly salsa. If you want to get creative with your dip, you can turn it into a football field and use center yard line (or one of the other markers if you’re using more than 2 varieties of guacamole) as your divider.

Wholly Guacamole

Wholly Guacamole has offered to send one of my readers a Wholly Guacamole prize pack to help celebrate the beginning of football season. Of course, if you’re not a football fan, you can always just enjoy it with some friends and family. Giveaway is open to US residents due to shipping constraints and ends September 10th.
