Horse Notebooking Pages

Posted in Homeschooling

Project 365 – #263 Munchkin is looking forward to her upcoming horse (equine) study.  Part of my preparation involves getting some notebooking pages done for her.  She really enjoys using notebooking pages rather than just plain paper.  I decided to make both black & white pages as well as full color photo pages. Both Horses Notebooking Pages sets are now part of the Marine Corps Nomads Homeschool Resource Library. They’re still free, but they’re now hosted right here. All of the free homeschool resources are available in one easy-access location. You can sign up for free access to the resource…

Tri-Cross Game Review

Posted in Photography, and Reviews

Checkers meets Stratego… That’s how D described this fun game of strategy called Tri-Cross. When the game arrived at the house, we all read through the instructions of this completely new to us game, but it didn’t really “click” until we watched the video on how to play. There are different versions of the game which have varying degrees of difficulty. We decided to stick with the beginner version as we got use to the game play.  (The beginner version is shown above, and the more advanced version is shown below.) It was soon very apparent that this was Daddy’s…

A Fun New Tool

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

Project 365 – #262 I was blessed with the opportunity to review a Bamboo tablet which arrived today.  We’ve been having fun playing with it tonight.  It’s a fun tool, but it’s also a functional tool that we’ll be able to use for our homeschool. Today, we were just experimenting with some of the different features and programs that came with it.  We played a game, tested out the note taking tools, had fun doing a little drawing, and playing with some of the picture features.  There was a good bit of laughter and “this is so cool” going on…

You Are the Potter, I am the Clay

Project 365 – #261 Have Thine Own Way, Lord written by Adelaide A. Pollard Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Thou art the potter, I am the clay: Mould me and make me after Thy will, While I am waiting, yielded and still. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Search me and try me, Master today! Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now, As in Thy presence, humbly I bow. Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Wounded and weary, help me I pray! Power, all power, surely is Thine, Touch…

Gluten Free Cheesy Onion Burger

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #260 I hadn’t gotten anything out for dinner, and everyone was hungry.  I started digging in the freezer to see what we had available.  I was happy to find some frozen turkey burgers as they make a quick, easy meal.  While I was in the freezer, I pulled out some mixed veggies to serve with the burgers.  Frozen burgers go directly in the hot cast iron skillet while I slice up the onions and cheese. For this meal, I used a small organic red onion as we had received these in our last Bountiful Baskets order.  I…
