A Season of Change

Posted in Family

Life has turned a bit upside down for the Marine Corps Nomads family as we entered into a huge season of change. From moving to the homestead to sending our girl off to college to being in 3 different locations as a family, this summer has been a true season of change. As we started with all of the changes, I couldn’t help but this of this scripture passage from Ecclesiastes 3: For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and…

Looking Back at 2016

It’s always fun to look back at what took place during the year. There were both ups and downs, but I like the remember all of the blessings we encountered along the way. It should be interesting to see what the new year of 2017 has in store for us. January – Shoulder Surgery D’s shoulder surgery was quite the ordeal, but we made it through it. The military hospital really dropped the ball on quite a few things, but the shoulder was repaired which was the main concern. The road to recovery would be a painful, slow process, but…

Looking Back at 2015

It’s hard to believe that we’re already in 2016. Yes, I typed it wrong and had to change the date as I’m still not used to typing 2016. **grin** It seems like we were just starting 2015 yesterday. 2015 was a crazy year for us, so I thought it would be fun to look back at pull out a picture from each month. It’s good to remember even as we look ahead a what 2016 may hold in store for us. January – New Year Begins with Snow Because we live in an area where snow is not a regular…

When Life Gets a Little Crazy…

…I tend not to do quite as much blogging. So much going on, and I’m sure that I’ll write more about some of the major things soon. For now, I’m trying to get back into a regular routine plus get ready for some possible changes. No, I’m not trying to be cryptic.  Just focusing on the here and now. I’ve been having fun creating some new meals for us to try (and trying to document what I’m doing). I’m enjoying taking food pictures again. Munchkin was thrilled when I agreed to make some cupcakes (gluten free chocolate cupcakes with peanut…

Pieces of the Puzzle

Little did we know what a difference that short trip to the stables would make in our lives. Wednesday saw Munchkin begin her volunteer work at the stable with the plan that she’d only work a couple of hours two times a week until she got settled in.  That didn’t last very long as each day has seen a slightly longer day, and tomorrow (her third day this week) will be the longest day yet.  lol!  We now find ourselves trying to find a new balance with school, chores, and her volunteer work.  Shortly, we’ll also be adding in taking…
