Pantry and Food Storage Organization

Posted in Homemaking, and Reviews

I received a sample of the chalk markers to help facilitate the writing of a honest review. This post may contain affiliate links. Over the years, I have tried a variety of different items to label and organize my food pantry and food storage. For many years, I used Tupperware Modular Mates for all of my food storage needs and just applied small labels to the containers. (Here is a picture of my gluten free pantry while using modular mates.) This worked great as it made for easy moves and kept our food bug-free, but as I learned more about…

An Organized Gluten Free Pantry

Posted in Homemaking

I definitely feel blessed to have a nice sized pantry at this house. Normally base-housing pantries (in our experience) leave much to be desired when it comes to pantries, so this was a nice surprise when we moved in a little over 3 years ago. (It’s hard to believe it’s been that long already.) The down side to a large pantry is that it tends to become a catch-all mess if you don’t stay on top of organization. Well, our pantry was in a sorry state when I decided to tackle it this morning. Things were here and there, and…

Updating Our Homeschool Space

Posted in Homemaking, and Homeschooling

As Munchkin travels through her homeschooling journey, we constantly find ourselves needing to adjust her subjects and schooling style. Often, these adjustments lead to changes in our homeschool area(s) and homeschool book/supply organization. Recently, we found that our previous setup was no longer working for us. We weren’t really utilizing the separate space as we have started schooling in the living room rather than upstairs. Munchkin was keeping her supplies in a basket, but this looked cluttered and took up too much space. It was also hard to keep the books looking nice when they were being stored in the…

30 Organizational Challenge

Organizing Junkie is hosting her fall 30 Day Organizational Challenge, and I’m jumping on board. The challenge actually started on Nov 1st, so I’m running a little behind. I need the extra motivation right about now, so here I go… The room that I’m doing for the challenge is the Kitchen/Dining Room area. When D was home, it became a catch-all plus we purchased some new appliances right before he left. This really left the room in quite a state of chaos. Add to that the fact that I still haven’t found a place for everything… Well, you end up…

Tackle It Tuesday: Organization

Posted in Homemaking

This week, for Tackle it Tuesday, I decided that I needed to tackle cleaning and organizing the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry. Thankfully, D was willing to help me take care of the few science experiments that were found. I think everything ended up looking pretty good in the end. Updated to add the spice cabinet. I was motivated to finish up all areas, so I also tackled the spice cabinet today.
