Outdoor Living with prAna

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Reviews

prAna sent me the Mantra pant and Ravena top for the purpose of writing this post. As soon as we had a break in the high summer temperatures, we knew that it was time to hit the trails and the boulders. D had a long weekend thanks to Labor Day, so while we did have some work that had to get done, our main focus was having some fun in the park. We decided that we’d split our time between climbing at the gym and hiking and climbing in the park. We’re fortunate to live in an area that is rich in…

Organic India Moringa

Posted in Reviews

Special thanks to Organic India for providing a sample of their products through Moms Meet. I first heard of Moringa when we moved to California. The health foods stores talked about this nutrient dense food that had over 90 nutrients, 46 antioxidants, and loads of minerals. It’s a concentrated superfood  that is both alkalizing and energizing, and it’s abundant in vitamins, minerals, and complex amino acids. People used it to help restore imbalances in their system and increase overall well-being. The Organic India brand of Moringa products are USDA certified organic, non-gmo project verified, Kosher and Halal certified, gluten free,…

Applegate Natural Deli Meats

So you’ve decided that you want the convenience of pre-sliced deli meats but you don’t want all of the additives and other “yucky” stuff that can be found in many of the prepackaged meats. At the same time, you don’t want to sacrifice taste when looking for a good alternative. This is where Applegate Organic and Natural Meats enter the picture.

Applegate Natural Meats are humanely raised without the use of antibiotics, and are free of nitrates, nitrites, and other artificial ingredients. They don’t sacrifice flavor or texture when providing a healthier alternative to traditional packaged meats on the market.

Now, if you’re like me and live in an area without a bunch of health food stores, you may find the meat a bit difficult to find. In fact, you may learn that you need to pick up the meat when you’re visiting a location where they have places like Whole Foods, Sprouts…. (Our local stores carried a few Applegate products, but they did not carry the natural meats.) You can check out the store locator to find a retailer near you. On a positive note, when you do locate them, you’ll be pleased to know that they are gluten free. In fact, many of the Applegate products are gluten free.

Mouse Egg Salad

Of course, since we’re gluten free, we often find ourselves taking our lunches on the go which means I need to find easy lunches/snacks for on the road. We enjoy having things like meat, cheese, and crackers with veggies and/or fruit when we’re on the go. If I get a little more creative, Munchkin may find herself having a fun lunch like the Mouse Egg Salad pictured above.

Would you like to try out the Applegate Natural Deli Meats? Two of my readers will win an Applegate Natural Deli Meats prize pack courtesy of Applegate through Moms Meet. Giveaway is open to US residents and ends 10/31.
