Learning to Make Homemade Skin Care Products

Posted in Homemaking, and Homeschooling

Munchkin is having fun with her natural health class. This week, she’s learning about natural skin care products. As she’s looking at products to avoid (and why), she started to get more excited about making her own skin care products with natural ingredients. The first thing on her “to do” list was cleaning out some old lip balm containers as she was going to be making her own lip balm. The funny thing was that cleaning out the lip balm containers was a longer process than actually making the lip balm. She was pretty proud of the end result. She’s…

Decadent GFCF Chocolate Snickers Cake

Posted in Gluten Free

Sometimes, you get a craving for a really decadent dessert. Both Munchkin and D like their chocolate, so I decided to go all out. I transformed a basic gluten free chocolate cake mix into a delicious dairy free gluten free chocolate snickers cake. While I used my homemade gfcf chocolate sauce and gfcf caramel sauce, you can easily use a store purchased fudge sauce and caramel to create the dessert. I like walnuts or pecans, but you can use any nut you have on hand. If you want it to be a true to the snickers candy bar, you’ll want…

(It will thicken as it cools.) Store in a canning jar in the refrigerator.

Gluten Free Parmesan Crusted Chicken Nuggets

Gluten Free Parmesan Crusted Chicken Nuggets Recipe These delicious, bite-sized morsels are another one of my throw together recipes.  If you start out with slightly frozen chicken, it is easier to cut the chicken breasts into bite-size cubes.  All measurements are approximate. Ingredients: 3 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 Cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp dill 1 tsp dried oregano Directions: Start heating cast iron skillet on stove Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, try to keep the pieces uniform Combine Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and oregano in a Ziploc bag Add chicken to Ziploc bag,…
