May is Graduation Month

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Thoughts

I’m going to apologize in advance because, during the month of May, I’ll be sharing a lot of things that are graduation related as we prepare for Munchkin’s graduation. I have plans for graduation gift ideas, open house ideas, decorations, and a variety of other things. Hopefully, you won’t get tired of me posting about everything leading up to the graduation as well as the graduation and open house. It’s a pretty big event for us, so we’re rather excited about celebrating this milestone in Munchkin’s life. While we know that Munchkin will be attending community college for at least…

Final Chapter of Homeschooling

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

It’s hard to believe that we’re in our final chapter of homeschooling. In a little less than two months, Munchkin will be walking across the stage to receive her high school diploma. Where has the time gone? Earlier this week, we received the information on the graduation ceremony, and her diploma was ordered. As we wrap up her final high school classes, we look to the future and what it may hold. Preparations are being made for college, and decisions are being explored for different career paths. My little girl is blossoming into a beautiful young lady both inside and…

Homeschool Review: Week Ending 2/7/14

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

It’s hard to believe that we’re getting ready to head into the second week of February. Where has time gone? This month has found us finishing up some homeschool subjects/curriculum while starting others. Munchkin wrapped up her Analytical Grammar studies this week. She found that who and whom are not her friends, but otherwise did quite well with her final. We’ll be continuing to review grammar with the Analytical Grammar Review and Reinforcement book. We may use one of their High School Reinforcement books next year, but I haven’t decided yet. She’s continuing with her Biblical Archaeology studies which she…

Establishing a New Routine

Posted in Family, Homemaking, and Homeschooling

We’re still getting settled into the new place even though we’ve been here a little over a month now. I was on track to have the house completely unpacked and organized on record pace until we started volunteering at the horse rescue. You see, we were immediately drawn into helping there as there is so much that needs to be done. Both Munchkin and I really enjoy our time there even though it is hard work. Because of this, we’re still trying to find a good schedule that works for us. Right now, we’re working/volunteering at the ranch between 4…

The 1st Homeschool Day of 2012

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

I admit that both mommy and daughter have enjoyed our time off from school.  Munchkin has even taken a little time off from her volunteer work at the stables to regroup a little. Today, the break was over, and we started back up with school work.  I admit that it’s good to be back on schedule even though I can’t say that I’m looking forward to grading school work. **wink**  Surprisingly, the day went smoothly which is not always the case when we start back up after a long break.  Munchkin jumped back into everything without any issues.  Granted, we…
