What do you do when you really want snow, but you live in the desert where snow isn’t going to happen? You make your own snow with your friends. I very much enjoy looking at Christmas lights.  No matter where we are living, we try to find a very nice Christmas light display.  Last year, we missed out on that, but this year, we went to Storybook Lane.  A group of neighbors (not in our neighborhood) came together to put on a light show display featuring ‘Twas the Night before Christmas.  You could drive down the street and look at the display (very long, very slow process), or you could park and walk down the street to see all of the displays.  We decided to walk, and I’m glad…

Marine Twas the Night before Christmas

Tonight, I will fill our stockings and climb into a comfy bed with my Marine as he is safely home with me on this December eve. Sadly, there are many other families who will be without their deployed loved one. This evening, as we remember the birth of our Savior and the sacrifices that He made for us, we will also be remembering those troops who are far from home – looking up into the night sky – thinking of loved ones at home.
