Creation Rim Tour at the Grand Canyon

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

To celebrate Munchkin’s graduation, we headed over to the Grand Canyon to take a rim tour with Canyon Ministries. Our day started rather early as we needed to meet our guide – Guy – in Williams by 07:00. We all piled into the tour vehicle, and Guy began to tell us a little about Canyon Ministries and what we’d be doing that day. Unfortunately, Munchkin was not feeling well, but she was not going to miss this opportunity. She immediately started peppering Guy with questions which I think he liked as she was totally engaged in the tour. She was…

Visiting the Grand Canyon with Grandma and Grandpa

When D learned that Grandma and Grandpa had not been to the Grand Canyon on a clear day, he checked the weather to see what it was going to be like at the Canyon the next day. When it saw a clear forecast, plans were made to head over to the Grand Canyon for the day. The weather was crisp and clear in the morning. The temperatures warmed up a little during the day, but it was still cool. It was a beautiful day for observing the Grand Canyon. When we first arrived, we headed over to the visitor’s center.…

So, I chose not to think about that and just enjoy the views on the way down. Denial – it can be a beautiful thing – at least for a little while. **grin** We took our…

Grand Canyon: South Kaibab Trailhead

We originally thought that we were going to be heading to Yosemite National Park for our Memorial Day vacation, but it turns out that unless you get in reservations early – really early – that you’re not getting a camping spot. At least, you’re not getting a spot that will work for a 5th wheel trailer. Since we take the dogs with us and they’re not allowed on most trails, they need to be able to stay in the trailer. Tent camping wasn’t an option this trip. Anywho… we decided to head on up to the Williams, Az instead. We…
