Fear is a Liar

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. ~ Deuteronomy 31:6 Fear Is A Liar by Zach Williams When he told you you’re not good enough When he told you you’re not right When he told you you’re not strong enough To put up a good fight When he told you you’re not worthy When he told you you’re not loved When he told you you’re not beautiful That you’ll never be enough Fear he is…

2018 Word of the Year: Hope

Posted in Christian Life, and Family

Hope – such a simple word. Yet hope is anything but simple. It’s a powerful word, powerful idea. Hope has the ability to provide purpose and light in an otherwise dismal situation. 2017 wasn’t an easy year for my family, and 2018 hasn’t started off much better. When I began thinking about my word for this year, I kept coming back to both hope and faith. Over time, I knew that hope was my word for the year. I needed hope, and my hope was directly tied to my faith. For me, faith and hope go hand-in-hand. For God alone, O my soul,…

Reading through the Bible in One Year

Posted in Christian Life

The beginning of a new year seems to spark the new to start fresh, to create new habits and break old habits. I don’t make new year’s resolutions, but I do set goals for myself. While goals are set throughout the year, the first of the year lends itself to setting goals for the year. I’ve read through the Bible in the past. The group provides some…

As the years passed, the prayers continued, but the changed according to the stages of her life. Now, that she’s in college and approaching some difficult decisions about further education and a future career, I find myself, once again, praying in a different way. I also find myself praying that the Lord will bring the right people into her life to help her grow in…

Reflection: An Unexpected Break

Posted in Christian Life, and Thoughts

I took an unexpected break from blogging and most social media. It started while Munchkin and Daddy were gone and continued after they got back. I just didn’t have anything to write. I was stuck in a rut because my life was (and honestly is) at a standstill due to the injury. I felt like I was going in a circle with no way out. Frustration had set in – especially when I kept hearing “You’re still on crutches? Man, you’ve been injured forever.” Yep, thanks for the reminder. lol! I decided to just take a break and focus on…
