When we were still in the homeschooling years, I often used coloring as a way to help my girl focus during a lesson. We would sit down and color together while watching an educational program. We had a very relaxing Christmas this year filled with some quality family time.
As I sit here in my rocking chair near the warmth of the glowing fire, I am feeling blessed. Last year, we were walking on plywood trying to keep warm without any insulation. This year, we have new floors and cozy rooms. It took hard work, but the reward is a lovely home where we can relax as a family. Yes, we have a nice roof over our heads, a fridge and pantry with plenty of food, fresh water to drink, warm clothes to wear, and the fellowship of good neighbors. Between the archery and Munchkin’s knight costume, it’s probably no surprise that Munchkin likes the medieval time period. She’s always thought that sword fighting was rather cool, so when I saw high impact practice long swords on sale, I knew that I had the perfect Christmas present for Daddy and Daughter. It was hard keeping the secret from the two of them as I was really excited. 😉 I saved that present for last, and I’m glad that I did as the swords were a huge hit. I did have to tell them that sword play was reserved for outside.…
