2011 Library Loving Blog Challenge

Posted in Announcements, Commercial Break, and Photography

Project 365 – #088 Last year, I had a blast participating in the library-loving blog challenge, so when Jennifer contacted me to see if I wanted to participate again this year, I said yes! For every commenter on this post between now and April 1st, 2011 at midnight (pacific time) I will donate 50 cents to our local county library, up to an amount of $50 total. It’s super easy for you – you comment, I donate to the library! You know how as a homeschooler I love books and great libraries. **grin** I’d love to hear about your favorite…

2010 Library-Loving Blog Challenge

Posted in Announcements, and Commercial Break

When I saw this is a library-loving blog challenge over at Brimful Curiosities, I knew that I would want to join in.  As a homeschooler, I love books, and we like to support our local libraries.  While we aren’t using our current library quite as much as we used our old library (because they did not have the online catalog available), we still want to support the library system!  (They have recently added that option, so we’ll probably be making more trips to the library again.) For every commenter on this post between now and Saturday, March 27, at midnight…

100+ Reading Challenge & What’s In a Name Reading Challenge

Posted in Announcements, and Commercial Break

I saw this book challenge over at Heidi’s blog and thought it would be fun to join in myself.  I enjoy reading and thought it would be fun to have a record of what I have read this year. On this post, I will be recording the books that I read in 2010.  There should be a good mix as I am reviewing books for different companies.  It’s been a good while since I’ve done a challenge like this — since I was a child. If you would like to join in on the 100+ Reading Challenge, head over to…

Fall Into Reading 2009

Posted in Blogging

It’s hard to believe it’s already time for Callapidder Days Fall Into Reading again.  Wow!  Time has flown.  This time last year we were preparing for D’s return home.  I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since he’s been back!! Munchkin’s reading list for this year includes the Hank the Cowdog series by John R. Ericson and the Sarah series by Jim Baumgardner.  She also plans on reading several “how to draw” books and books on sharks. My reading list also includes the Sarah series by Jim Baumgardner.  (I’ve already read the first book and look forward to reading…

One Can A Month Challenge

Posted in Announcements, and Commercial Break

Starting July 1 Enviromom is going to walk (virtually) through a typical house and talk about waste that is generated in each room. They’ll offer tips and strategies for eliminating waste through the REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE model. They’ll take it slow, and over the course of the month they’ll cover the whole house. You can do this. You and your family can whittle down your waste to one trash can a month, saving money and greening up the planet in the process. Not only that, but everyone who registers by posting a comment will be entered to win a…
