We had a wonderful Christmas and really enjoyed our time in Michigan with the family. We ended up coming home a bit earlier than planned due to some truck issues that D was having. Unfortunately, things haven’t gotten better in that department, so we’re really relying on the Lord to take care of the finances with the upcoming closing on the house. Trip to Norfolk

Well, we headed down to Norfolk on Saturday to check things out. We had viewed a few houses that looked nice on the internet, so we thought we’d check out the area. Boy were we surprised by the neighborhoods. Many were quite scary, so we learned that we’re going to really need to be careful about where we buy. That’s right. It’s getting to be that time again that we are preparing for another move. We’re surprisingly heading to Norfolk, VA. We’ll be starting house hunting soon as it looks like it might be difficult to find a decent house in our price range that won’t be a commute for D. We may go over and look this weekend since it’s less than 3 hours away. We’ll see. D is doing research to try to find out what exactly he’ll be doing once he gets there. It will be an adventure, I’m sure.
Some Fun Christmas Creations

On Sunday, after church, we created a fun snowman out of our leftover pumpkins from Fall. We had a blast doing it. Here’s our creation. On Monday, Little Song Bird and I had fun creating our own gingerbread house and gingerbread tree. The Nativity Story

On Sunday, a friend of ours invited us to attend their church for a special showing of the Nativity Story movie that is now playing in theaters. It was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend seeing this film if you have the opportunity. Our daughter loved it and can’t wait for it to come out on dvd so she can see it again. What a blessing. It also lead to several conversations about differences between the movie and scripture (though it was pretty accurate).
