Valentine’s Day Ideas

Posted in Family, and Holidays

It’s February which means Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. I know, some of you will say, but I have plenty of time before Valentine’s Day. Well, we all know how quickly time flies, so I’ll just go ahead and post a glimpse into some of the ideas that we’ve used around our house on Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is a fun day to show the people in your life that you love and appreciate them. We like to start off the day with little notes hidden all over the place in areas that our family members use on…

Thankful Thursday: The Basics

Posted in Family

What is that saying? Count your blessings one by one? Well, when I came across Thankful Thursday, I knew that I needed to participate. So often we truly forget to be thankful for all that God has given us. Munchkin and I have both been working on this. 1. I’m thankful most importantly for my salvation and for the salvation of my family. 2. I’m thankful that my family is currently together. We treasure this time when we’re not seperated by distance. 3. Daddy Daughter Day

Today has ended up being a Daddy Daughter Day at our house. I’m in bed with a stomache bug of some sort. Yuck! They started off the day with some leftover pancakes from Daddy’s cooking session yesterday. (He always makes extras, so we can have them during the week.) They both really enjoy these. Sometimes they follow along in the Bible and sometimes they just watch. John was a…

Well, we had several things that we’ve been putting off doing for one reason or another. 1) Going to the grocery store and taking advantage of being able to get General Mills cereal for only $1.00 a box. (Finished!) 2) Washing the vehicles (Finished!) 3) Daddy & Daughter basketball game (Done!) and 4) Pizza Night! (the pizza was just ordered). It’s been a good, fun, and productive day. This anti-procrastination challenge has been a really great thing for this family these week. It’s kept me motivated which in turn keeps everyone else motivated. Thanks to The Sparrows Nest for calling…

Highs and Lows

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

We had a bit of a roller-coaster day. It was a testing day as a parent, but we know that God has called us to be faithful to Him. We can’t take the easy way out as it will come back to haunt us. We know that it is critical that we are constantly on our guard. Not only do we need to be good examples, but we must also punish in love. We can not let tears keep us from doing the job that God has given to us. We can only pray that in the end we will…
