Thankful Thursday: Bed Rest

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

I am so thankful for my husband and daughter

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a Thankful Thursday post, but I really needed to focus on my blessings today.

I’ve been on bed rest for a little over a week now. Due to the pain and meds, I’m not really able to focus on reading which is my normal go-to when I’m sick and not able to do anything. I’m frustrated with not being able to do even the simplest of tasks at this point in time. Needless to say, I’m feeling annoyed and out of sorts. It’s time to focus on the good rather than the bad.

Munchkin has pretty much taken over all of the cooking responsibilities. To say that I’m grateful that she’s willing to cook our meals is an understatement. We’re low on food since I haven’t been able to do the grocery shopping for the last couple of weeks, so with a little help, she’s gotten a little creative with meals. Since I’m unable to carry anything due do the crutches, she’s been bringing me not only meals but also all of my drinks and snacks. She’s been great about doing what needs to be done around the house without complaint. She’s not always thrilled with it, but she’s insistent on taking care of me. 🙂

D has had a really full schedule with work and school, but he’s still taken on the responsibility of taking care of the horses and dogs in the morning. (I usually do that before he gets up and heads to work, but I can’t right now.) He’s taken packages to the post office for me and picked up feed and hay for the animals. He’s even picked up a few basic grocery items.

As I was writing this post, the news came in about the Marines that were murdered, so that makes me even more grateful that D is home safe with me tonight. In light of the news, I didn’t finish writing my post but rather took time to pray for the families of the fallen Marines and the other individuals who were injured during the attack.
