Tens Handheld Electronic Pulse Massager

Special thanks to Gurin for providing a sample massager for review purposes.

We’ve been pretty busy around here between getting ready for Munchkin’s graduation and getting our place ready for spring. Since we don’t have a tractor, hauling dirt and composted manure for the garden is all done with a shovel and dump cart. It’s rewarding but tiring work. We often end the day with aching muscles.

Some days are worse than others due to the amount of work that needs to be done. I’m constantly amazed at how much work homesteaders get done in a day. We’re not full time homesteaders by any stretch of the imagination, but I still struggle to get everything done.

I’ve been seeing these pulse massagers around and wondered if they would help with the hurting muscles at the end of the day, so I was excited to try out the Tens Electronic Pulse Massager. As is my norm, I applied a moist heat to my back after working. After that, I decided to test out the pulse masssager.

Tens Handheld Electronic Pulse Massager

This unit comes with the controller, 4 self-stick electrode pads, and 2 lead wires. It requires 4 AAA batteries which are included in the package. You can use it with just 2 electrode pads or all 4. You can even use it on two people at once, and each person can control their own intensity level.

The electrode pads were easy apply and stayed firmly in place. I chose to use it on my shoulders first as that is where I tend to carry the most tension and where I was aching the most. I chose the shoulder auto program button and adjusted the intensity level to what was comfortable for me (4). Then I “relaxed” for 15 minutes as the program went through the cycle.

It was an interesting sensation as you could actually see my shoulders move during certain times during the program cycle. It was not painful but I wouldn’t say that it’s really relaxing either. What’s important is that it did help sooth my aches and pains.

The unit has auto program buttons for the waist (lower back), shoulder, joint, hand-leg, and sole of the foot. It also has a repeat button that allows you to repeat a certain stimulation in the program. The only area that I did not like using the unit on was the sole of my foot. Even at the lowest setting it made my toes feel like they were being pricked with a million little needles.

You also have the ability to use the manual mode that features three different modes – massage, beat, and knead. You can increase and decrease the pulse rate speed. The intensity level can be adjusted from 1 to 10. I can not imagine being able to handle the 10 as that would be seriously intense.

The Tens Electronic Pulse Massager (affiliate link) is easy to use and works. I like that it’s very customizable to each users unique needs. The display is clear and simple to read. The only thing missing is a nice storage container/pouch as I’m not a big fan on storing it in the box like I’m doing right now.

While the unit may not be able to make the jobs around the house get done faster, it does help make the resulting aches and pains after a hard days work more manageable.
