Made in HeavenMade in Heaven Book Description:

We often marvel at the wonders of the world around us and take enjoyment in its beauty. But did you know that many of the technological advances that make our lives better are based on nature? Who would have thought that such “lowly” creatures as butterflies and beetles, mosquitoes and mussels, wasps, and worms could all serve as inspiration for today’s top scientists?

Even in the most advanced laboratories, scientists often begin their search for innovation in the natural world, studying God’s creation in an effort to understand its complex, proven mechanics of design.

Engineers and inventors have looked to fish, squids, and shrimp for such high-tech inventions as body armor, jet propulsion, and optical media. We have moths to thank for fueling new discoveries in solar panels. Yet how often has man merely copied God’s designs and taken all the credit, when He is truly the source of all knowledge and creativity of this world?

Includes:

  • How the glow of a cat’s eyes innovates road reflectors
  • Naturally sticky inspirations for Velcro
  • The human immune system, the geck’s foot, the moth’s eye, and other natural examples

Join us as we look at a few of the discoveries inspired by God’s created world, and imagine what future medicines, innovations, and mysteries will be impacted – all based on divine design.

My Thoughts:

I’ve always found it interesting how many times that we, as humans, turn to nature to get answers on how to solve various problems. If we want achieve a certain task such as flight, bullet proof vests, armor, swimming faster…, we carefully study nature to seek out the answers. It’s rather amusing that with all of our technology nature – God’s creation – is still more advanced.

In Made in Heaven, readers are taken on a scientific journey through 32 different studies of nature and technology. The science/technology is not dumbed down, but it’s still fairly easy for most readers to follow. Each study shows how the natural object is carefully, thoughtfully designed and what we can learn from it to advance our technology.

Our family has always been fascinated by how wonderfully we (and all of creation) are made. The Lord really knew what He was doing, and it’s very obvious when we truly look at all of creation. It’s by studying His work that we’re able to make our lives just a little bit better, a little easier.

While I’m not too fond of the phrase “Man’s Indiscriminate Stealing of God’s Amazing Design” on the cover of the book, I do believe that man can learn a lot from our Creator. This book is just a glimpse into the natural studies that are behind some if the technology of today and the future.
