Demolishing Suppose Bible Contradictions Volume 2Book Description:

In volume 2 of Demolishing Supposed Bible Contradictions, a variety of authors (including Ken Ham, Bodie Hodge, and Tim Chaffey) explore forty alleged Biblical contradictions. Explosive and insightful Biblical evidence disproves the toughest of critics while bringing to light the indestructible power of God’s Word. This book takes on some of the most difficult issues to help strengthen the faith of those who love God. Too often the Bible is dismissed by people who have heart it is simply filled with myths and mistakes, and many have abandoned the faith, not understanding there wasn’t an error at all.

About the Editors:

Tim Chaffey is a writer and editor with Answers in Genesis. Tim earned a Th.M. in Church History and Theology from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2011, after successfully defending his thesis on “The Sons of God and the Nephilim” (available on Kindle). In 2008, he earned a Master of Divinity degree (summa cum laude) specializing in Apologetics and Theology. Tim also holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Biblical and Theological Studies. He is the founder and director of Midwest Apologetics, a ministry dedicated to defending the word of God from the beginning to the end.

Ken Ham is the president/CEO and founder of Answers in Genesis – U.S. and the highly acclaimed Creation Museum. Ken Ham is one of the most in-demand Christian speakers in North America. Ken’s emphasis is on the relevance and authority of the book of Genesis and how compromise on Genesis has opened a dangerous door regarding how the culture and church view biblical authority. His Australian accent, keen sense of humor, captivating stories, and exceptional PowerPoint illustrations have made him one of North America’s most effective Christian communicators.

Mr. Bodie Hodge attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and received a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering. His specialty was a subset of mechanical engineering based in advanced materials processing, particularly starting powders. Currently, Bodie is a speaker, writer, and researcher for Answers in Genesis–USA. He is the author of The Fall of Satan and co-author of Dragons: Legends & Lore of Dinosaurs.

My Thoughts:

Demolishing Supposed Bible Contradictions Volume 2 teaches that we, as Christians, need to be able to stop being on the defensive and start being on the offensive when it comes to Biblical truths. It also reminds us that we need to make sure that all we say and do needs to be done in a manner which will be pleasing to the Lord. It gives us tools to help us dig deeper and start to answer some of the questions that are routinely thrown out at Christians.

The book is broken down into 5 main sections:

  • Genesis
  • Exodus – Deuteronomy
  • Joshua – Malachi
  • Matthew – John
  • Acts – Revelation

Within these sections, several different questions about supposed scriptural contradictions are answered by different authors. I like that they brought in different authors to help answer the questions as the different styles of writing and answering is a nice change of pace. The conversational style of the book makes it less intimidating and easy to read and comprehend.

The book can be read straight through as a way to prepare for questions that we receive, or it can be used as a resource for when we’re hit with some of the seemingly tough questions. As always, we are strongly encouraged to really get into the Word of God for the answers. The book is only a resource as the truth is found in His Word.
