Marine Corps Nomads Goes International

Passport

At the end of January, I briefly mentioned getting reading for some big changes, but I didn’t give any details at the time. Well, it’s finally time to make the announcement because it’s “military” official. Marine Corps Nomads (pending medical clearance for the family) is heading to Japan.

Yes, it’s a huge and unexpected change for us as this was not in our plans. We’ve been slowly starting the process of getting ready as we awaited confirmation of orders. This duty station, while affording many new opportunities, was not something that we really wanted for a variety of reasons, but we’re trusting the Lord’s plan for our lives. We’re truly feel blessed by the out pouring of prayers from friends and family.

We do not have a firm date for the move as there is a lot involved with the moving process. As I stated, we all need to get clearances – including medical clearance to head over there. Even the pups need to get medical clearances and go through a quarantine period. We already submitted our regular passport paperwork. Later, we’ll need to apply for our no-fee (military) passports. (The regular passports are for normal travel while the no-fee passports are for military travel.) My “to-do” list is growing as I read, research, and prepare for the up-coming move.

I keep reminding myself as I’m researching that I need to breath and trust the Lord to supply all of our needs. He will take care of us. While this doesn’t mean there won’t be hardships, it does mean that He will have our backs. I am so thankful for all those prayers on our behalf because we know that prayers do make a difference.

This past year has been a bit of a roller-coaster ride, and I was hoping that we’d be getting off with the start of the new year. Alas, that was not to be. The roller-coaster ride continues. Thankfully, we know the Lord will keep us on track even if it’s a crazy ride at times.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. ~I Thessalonians 5:18~
