Thanks to some monetary gifts from family as well as hard work on Munchkin’s part, Munchkin is now the proud owner of a project truck. For Christmas, D and I wrapped up a goody box filled with car care items for Munchkin. Some items were picked up for free (or close to it) after Thanksgiving while others were picked up inexpensively right before Christmas. On top, we placed a small box which contained a nice keychain that held the truck keys. When she realized that she was the official owner of the truck, she squealed with delight. It was a special moment.
Now, you may be wondering why Munchkin’s truck is called Project Maize and Blue. First, we watch quite a few car/truck shows around our house, and they always name their project vehicles. Thus, Munchkin’s project vehicle was destined to receive a name. Maize and Blue comes from the colors that she’ll be using on the truck. The main color of the truck will be a beautiful metallic blue. It will have some small details done in an eye catching maize (yellow) color. Munchkin’s favorite color is blue, and we’re Michigan fans around here. The maize (yellow) just seemed the logical choice to her. **grin**
Purchasing the truck was no easy task, and it was definitely made possible sooner rather than later thanks to the Christmas gifts from family members. Yet, the real work is now just beginning as it will take time and hard work to get the truck to where she envisions it to be by the time she’s driving. I’m sure she’ll have a love/hate relationship with the vehicle over the next few years. I’m also confident that it will be a wonderful experience filled with ups and downs for Daddy and daughter.
Instead of a traditional thank you, Munchkin sent out the above picture as her thank you. It only seemed fitting to show off the truck to those who helped her reach her goal.

Munchkin says thank you; there’s a lot of work to do. Mommy will be documenting everything we do with pictures. I’m sure she’ll share them on the blog because that’s what she does. **grin**

It’s going to be an adventure. She’s definitely taking ownership of it since she had to spend her hard earned money to purchase the truck. She’s grateful that family was willing to give gifts toward the truck fund for sure. 😉
