Hopping Along

Isn’t that guy just too cute?  He (or maybe she?) was kind enough to hop out from the little cave to allow me to snap a few pictures before hopping back into the cooler shade that it afforded.  Since the other animals were not so inclined to help out, this critter was the only one that is being featured.  lol!

Yesterday, I was once again reminded of how much I use the internet for research and preparation for our homeschool day.  After lunch, I went to get on the internet to try to do some prep work.  Normally, I try to stay off the computer (for the most part) on Sundays, but I needed to look up a few things for our studies.  Unfortunately, I found that the internet was down.  I thought it was just a little glitch in the router setup at first, but I quickly learned that it was completely down.  I called our provider only to learn that the internet had already been down for a few hours, and they weren’t sure when it would be back up again.

I ended up not getting the things done that I needed to because the internet was down all day and didn’t come back up until bedtime.  (Guess the Lord decided that I really did need to be off the computer all day.)  I found myself pulling things together at the last minute today.  Thankfully, it wasn’t a big deal as I knew where to find everything, but I hate last minute prep.  It appears that we’ve become rather dependent upon the internet for our homeschool.  Although Munchkin does very little online for her actual studies, we use it for a good part of our research.  Plus, I really like to be able to pull visuals (videos and/or pictures) from the internet to enhance what she’s learning.

Technology… is an [odd] thing.
It brings you great gifts with one hand,
and it stabs you in the back with the other.
