A Little Bit of Country…

While I grew up in the city, I’m definitely a country girl at heart.  I love being outdoors (well, when it’s not super hot or super cold), and I dream of having a nice piece of land on which to homestead.  I love exploring God’s creation and seeing His hands on everything around me.  Hiking, camping, biking, fishing…  Yep, I enjoy it.  I’m grateful that even though I grew up in the city I had the opportunity to develop a love of nature thanks to various trips with my family and youth group.

Munchkin dreams of working with horses.  She’d love for horse ranch of some sort to be in her future (at least, that’s what she’s saying right now.)  Since she hasn’t actually worked with horses yet, we’ll have to see if that remains her dream.  I’m sure the Lord will bring opportunities into her life that will allow her to explore her passion.  For now, she can continue with the book knowledge as that is also important.

D, well, he grew up on a farm, and he’s, without a doubt, a country boy.  He loves his freedom and wide open spaces.  He’s looking forward to his back healing, so he can be cleared to get back out there riding.  Since he can’t ride right now, we’ll just have to go do some exploring in his truck.  **grin**  I think he has a few plans for this weekend after we pick up our Bountiful Baskets order tomorrow morning.  Of course, that depends on how his back is doing as it’s been a bit of a rough week.

We’re praying that one day we will be able to have that little bit of country to call our own.  We’ll see what the Lord has in store for us.  We never know where the Lord will send our family or what the Lord has in store for us.  It seems like every time we have it figured out something else happens.  While we may not always like our location, we chose to make it home and make the best of whatever we are given.  This time, we’ve really been blessed by our location, and we’ve tried to take advantage of the many opportunities with which the Lord has presented us.  For now, we’ll make ourselves at home wherever the Lord and the Marine Corps sends us.
