Review: The Lightkeepers Ball

Posted in Reviews

Lightkeepers BallOlivia Stewart is still struggling with the untimely death of her father which has left the once wealthy, prominent family in financial ruin when her sister dies mysteriously.  In an effort to uncover what really happened to her sister, Olivia travels west to California under her family’s English title.  In her quest to know the truth, Olivia finds herself helping new friends while trying to wade through all of the information she’s receiving from different parties.  Her life is endanger, and she’s not sure who to trust.  Will she put it all together before it’s too late?  Will she finally understand the complete nature of God’s unconditional love?

Colleen Coble has a gift for developing characters and stories within her books, and this book is no exception.  I enjoyed the historical elements that were mixed into the story such as Haley’s comet.  While there was some romance in the book, it was done tastefully and didn’t overpower the story.  There were enough twists in the story to hold my attention when the story slowed down.

The Lightkeeper’s Ball is the third and final book in the A Mercy Falls series.  I have not read the first two books, The Lightkeeper’s Daughter and The Lightkeeper’s Bride, but this book is fine as a stand alone book.
