Review: Grandma’s Attic Series Book One & Two

Posted in Reviews

In Grandma's atticGrowing up, I remember reading Stories from Grandma’s attic, so I was very much looking forward to the newly published Grandma’s Attic Series by Arleta Richardson. I was not disappointed.  The new illustrations are precious.  I’m thrilled that a whole new generation will get to enjoy stories from Grandma’s Attic.

Young Arleta found many great treasures in her grandma’s attic.  Each of these treasures held a special story which grandma happily shared with Arleta.  Grandma’s entertaining tales always hold a great moral value without feeling preachy.  Grandma is sharing her life, her memories, and some of her crazy antics.

Readers get to go along on the journey back in time – back to when grandma was a young girl.  She seems to often find herself in some crazy situation.  Thankfully, she learns from each of these situations.

As a mom, I appreciate the clean, fun nature of these books.  It feels like I could be sitting down with my grandma and hearing her tales of when she was young.  I couldn’t help but laugh at most, if not all, stories.  I look forward to sharing these books with Munchkin.

  1. What a wonderful sounding book series! I think my daughter would love these, and I think I’ve found a gift her brother & sister could give her for her birthday.
