Travel the WorldThe 2009 Schoolhouse Planner: June 2010 Module
Travel the World!

Each month, a new themed module is released for the current Schoolhouse Planner.  The modules are a nice homeschool asset whether or not you own The Schoolhouse Planner.  Each themed module is packed with information (a study guide), activities (coloring pages, puzzles), links, recipes, lapbook pages, and much more.  They are set-up so they can be used as a stand alone unit study.

June’s theme is Traveling the World.  This unit study covers maps, the continents, and other geography lessons in a Christian context.  Scripture passages are woven throughout the lessons.  The lessons can be used for all levels.  There is even a high school expansion section included for deeper study.

From lapbook pages to word searches to copywork, students will actively engage in the lessons they are being taught.  The hyperlinks included give more than enough materials to dive deeper into the various topics.  For ease of use, answer keys for the different puzzles are included.

I personally like that I can use this unit as a quick overview of the topic or as an in-depth study using the plethora of suggested resources.  Munchkin liked the various puzzles and activities (rebus, word search, crossword, acrostic poem…).  The included coloring pages are nice to keep hands busy while reading either the study guide or books on the topics being covered.  As with most e-books, you are able to print out only the pages that you want to use.

Travel the World e-book is available at The Old Schoolhouse Store for $7.95.  You can download sample pages here.

I received a copy of Travel the World as a member of the TOS Crew for the purpose of providing an honest review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.  This post contains TOS store affiliate link(s).
