A more relaxing week…

Munchkin DVBS 2010Last week, we had a crazy busy week due to daytime Vacation Bible School on base.  Munchkin had a wonderful time even with the few bumps she encountered along the way.  The week ended with a final closing ceremony where the kids recited their verses and sang the songs that they had learned during the week.  The handful of kids who learned all of their verses for the week received a can of root beer at the pizza party.  For some, this may not seem like much, but for my kiddo, she thought it was great.  (She really likes root beer.)

This week will be a more relaxing week.  The only thing that we have scheduled is her summer reading program on Wednesday at the base library.  Munchkin appreciates that fact that she won’t have to get up and going every morning this week.  (We like to take our time getting up and going in the morning.  Cuddling first thing is a great way to wake up.)

D’s truck has been out of commission due to dead batteries since last week.  We’re waiting to hear back from the battery company on how we can go about getting the replacement batteries under warranty since we don’t live near the original store where we purchased the batteries.  (Other stores will not replace them even though they carry the same batteries.)

I was able to make some gluten free bagels Sunday evening, and they turned out surprisingly well.  D would like me to make more of them.  I also need to make up some gf waffles for the freezer as he’s been out of them for a while.  He misses his morning waffles.  The high summer temps are not very motivating for baking, but I do need to get a few things done.

As usual, Monday morning finds me with a pile of laundry to tackle, so I need to really get that done today.  After Munchkin completes her school work, she will work on dishes and cleaning up a bit around the house.  I need to get some vacuuming and other cleaning done.

Overall, it should be a fairly relaxing week.  Do you have anything fun planned for your week?

I’m looking forward to my relaxing week next week! This week is a camping week with the inlaws and so it’s not quite as relaxing as I like. ; )

Thanks for your comment today and your encouragement! I’m enjoying my time on the Crew.

    Blessings,

I’m with Munchkin, there isn’t anything better than an ice cold, fuzzy, root beer (although I now drink the diet root beer, still good)! Getting back into my routine after our visit with our Marine. Hope you have a great week, God Bless :)
