A Delicious Ooops: Baked Waffle Surprise

I was making a quadruple batch of belguim waffles for D to put in the freezer, and I started having a problem with some of the waffles sticking for some reason.  I was doing nothing different, so it was just one of those crazy things.  The crazy, torn apart waffles looked horrible, but they tasted good.  Not wanting the waffles to go to waste, I decided to try an experiment with them.

Baked Waffle Surprise

I tore apart the bigger pieces of waffles and placed them all in a baking dish.  I then mixed up 8 eggs with 3/4 C heavy whipping cream and 2 tsp vanilla.  Once those ingredients were thoroughly beat together, I poured the mixture over the waffle pieces.  I sprinkled a little cinnamon and sugar on top.  I covered the whole dish and placed in the refrigerator over night.  The next morning, I placed the dish in a 350 degree oven until it was cooked.

I served the baked waffle surprise with fresh berries and sprinkled it with powdered sugar.  Yum!
