About Super Star Speech:

The Super Star Speech materials have been designed by a speech-language-pathologist to assist parents in helping their children achieve developmentally appropriate speech and to provide some of the necessary resources to do speech therapy at home. The focus of these books is the correction of articulation (speech sound) errors.

About Super Star Games:

Deborah Lott has also created a line of fun, educational games.  Munchkin and I are very familiar with these games as I had previously purchased the Super Star Game Bundle.  I enjoy using them in Munchkin’s workboxes and as a supplement to our curriculum.  I was pleased that we would be able to review the science games as we did not own this set of games.

Science Bundle

The Science Game Bundle includes: Climb the Vine – All About Plants, All About Animals, Planets – Moon & Stars, and The Insect Game.  You can purchase each game individually for $4.00 each or for $9.00 as a bundle.  All games need to be printed on card stock for durability.  I recommend laminating for long term use.

Climb the Vine! All about plants… students will learn about plants as they play this board game.  The printable game includes a game board, playing cards (trivia questions), and instructions.  You will need to supply a game marker to the players.  This game is geared towards grades 3 – 6.

All About Animals… students will learn about basic animal classification.  The printable game includes a game boards, playing cards (trivia questions or animal pictures), and instructions.  This game can be played with 2 or more players.  It also has different versions depending on the age level.  Younger students can classify animals as mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, or fish based upon pictures.  Older students can classify animals based upon trivia questions. It is geared towards grades K – 5.

The Insect Game… students will learn about insects.  The printable game includes insect game “board” (they assemble the parts of the insect to create a complete insect), playing cards (trivia questions), and instructions.  This game is a multi-player game.  There are optional game plays offered for younger and older players.  It is geared towards grades 2 – 6.

Planets, Moon and Stars!… students will learn about the solar system.  The printable game includes full color planet cards, playing cards (trivia questions), and instructions.  Pluto is included in the game, so you can decide if you want to use it as a planet.  This game is best played with multiple players.  It is geared towards grade 3 and up.

If you are looking for fun, affordable, educational games to reinforce ideas that your students are learning, I highly recommend these science games as well as the other games offered by Super Star Speech.

About the Author:

Deborah Lott is a licensed Speech language pathologist a with Master’s degree in Education/ speech pathology. She has home schooled her 4 children for the past 16 years while doing speech therapy part-time, primarily with children with articulation disorders. Through her interaction with other parents, she has come to realize that many parents cannot afford speech therapy for their children, prefer not to utilize speech therapy through the public schools, or may simply prefer to work with their children prior to beginning therapy or as a supplement to professional speech therapy.
