Baking with Namaste Foods Giveaway

Namaste Foods takes pride in meeting the needs of people with food allergies. Not only are their products all natural and certified kosher, but they are also processed in a dedicated facility that is free of gluten, wheat, potato, soy, corn, dairy, tree nuts, peanuts & casein.

We had the pleasure of trying out 2 of Namaste Foods baking mixes: Blondies and Biscuits, Piecrusts & More!

We started off with the Blondie mix.  Unfortunately, I made the mistake of using olive oil in the baking process instead of coconut oil, so out blondies tasted a bit like olive oil.  (They are very mild in flavor, so the olive oil was too strong. I often use olive oil in baking, but it was not the right choice this time.)  The texture was wonderful and minus the olive oil flavor (my fault completely) the flavor was good as well.  We enjoyed some blondie sundaes for dessert that evening.

Gluten Free Strawberry Pie SliceNext, I knew that I wanted to try to make pie crusts with the Biscuits, Piecrusts & More! mix.  We picked up some strawberries from the store in order to make some Gluten Free Strawberry Pie.  Making the pie crust was very easy.  The great thing about gluten free pie crust is that you don’t have to worry about working the dough too much.  I place the pie crusts in the pie dishes and baked according to the instructions.  I then filled the crusts with the strawberries and filling.  When the pies had set, the true test came ~ the taste test.  The pie crust held up well with the filling.  It was not soggy at all.  It had a nice texture and flavor.  We were all quite pleased.  My husband was so pleased that he helped himself to another slice.
