The 90-Day Bible Reading Challenge

Posted in Christian Life

I originally saw this challenge posted at Raising Olives, but the event is being hosted by Mom’s Toolbox.  I am taking part in the 90-Day Challenge that started on January 1st.  Using the reading schedule put together by Biblein90Days.org, I will be able to read through the whole Bible in only 90 days.  It’s quite the undertaking, but I think it will be worth the extra effort required.

I was pleased when Munchkin decided that she wanted to join me in this challenge.  Munchkin was actually so excited about the challenge that she started a few days early.  She said this would also be good for those days where she may not get all of the reading done.  It will give her a little more cushion.

D is working his way through the Bible on his own schedule, so he will be sitting this challenge out.  We’re going to call him our cheering section as he will encourage us along the way.  We are using our own Bibles even though they have specific Bibles that are suppose to make this challenge a bit easier.

I have no doubt that Satan isn’t going to like so many people coming together and reading God’s Word, so he’ll be sending out some counter attacks of his own during the time period.  If you are not taking part in the challenge, would you please lift the challenge participants up in your prayers?

we're doing this as well but not the ninety days we're doing it in a year. Awesome to have so many Christians turning to His word in serious study!!

Our preacher has encouraged the whole congregation to do a 90-day reading this year. We're using a chronological Bible–The Daily Bible–and we just need to read about 20 pages per day. Or, we read one month's worth each week until 12 weeks are over. (ie The first week, read all of January; the second week, all of February; and so on.) Since a quarter has 13 weeks, we have one extra week at the end in case we have fallen behind for some reason.

Until our preacher mentioned it, I had not heard of this Bible before. I really like the chronological aspect of it; but it is also infused with commentary that helps pull everything together. One doesn't need to be familiar with the whole Bible in order to understand how each section fits in.

    Blessings,
    Cara
