Gratituesday: Hard Working Husband

Gratituesday

D is a hard worker.  He doesn’t like to sit idley around and do nothing.  If he’s off work for too long, he starts to get antsy.  in fact, if he knows that he’s going to have a long weekend, he starts asking me what I want done.  Yep, that’s right, he asks for a honey do list!  **grin**

D is also good at fixing things.  He likes to try to figure out how to do different tasks.  He enjoys the challenge of determining what is wrong and then repairing it.

These things are coming in very handy this week.  On Saturday, as we were coming home from a little excursion to try out the dirt bikes (not me, them), the clutch went out on D’s truck.  Thankfully, we were not far from home.  He pulled a MacGyver type move and used some tie downs to hold the clutch in place so we could make it home.  He spent the rest of the day on Saturday figuring out what all would need replaced.

Sunday, he spent the day playing with Munchkin while I rested.

When Monday morning rolled around, he headed to the parts store and the dealership to pick up needed parts.  What he couldn’t find locally, he ordered online.  I’d hate to think how much all of this would have cost if we had to add in labor.  He worked hard on his truck today, and there are many more hours of work to be done before he can drive it.  (I’m without a vehicle while his truck is down….)

All this to say that I’m grateful that 1) we were close to home when the clutch went out and not in the middle of the wilderness (as we were earlier in the week) and that 2) I have a wonderful, hard-working husband who is not afraid to get his hands dirty, really dirty.

As for fixing things my hubby is like that too, however, he does not like to help around the house…Never has, looks for reasons to "escape" LOL! I usually send him off to run errands or just tell him to go to the range and practice shooting with his antique bows, he tries but honestly ~ I'd rather clean my house the way I want it THE CLEAN WY ;) ! Have a great dau, hope your car is fixed up real soon!! God Bless!

Heather I think I am not getting your feed in my reader. I'll watch for this one today to make sure, but it is weird–Anyway, bless your Husbands heart! Mine is wonderful, but his dad is a dentist & my husband was the spoiled baby– never learned how to actually do things around the house (bad for a not-dentist dad of 5) I get jealous, but God does everything for a reason, right? My dad could do anything, so that's what i expect:) Hope the truck is fine, fast & glad you were all ok!
